  1. Pick a neutral base palette. Choose 2–3 base colours so every piece mixes and matches.
  2. Source core basics. Thrift well-fitting basics: a pair of denim, a white tee, a versatile jacket, and neutral knitwear.
  3. Add a few statement pieces. Introduce two or three vintage or Y2K statement items to add personality.
  4. Prioritise fabric and fit. Favour natural fabrics and good condition so pieces last many wears.
  5. Fill gaps intentionally. Only add new thrifted items that pair with at least three existing pieces.
